You will need a pre-approved ACC claim for your injury, and to bring all of your ACC details for your first appointment.
It is recommended you book 3 treatments in advance, preferably weekly. ACC offer acupuncture treatment alongside any existing treatment you may be receiving e.g. Osteopathy, Physiotherapy e.t.c. You have 12 weeks of treatment available, which begins from your first acupuncture treatment. If you are unsure about your ACC claim please get in touch before booking an appointment.

For children under 12 years. Please contact me prior to booking your child's appointment. An initial complimentary 15 min phone consultation is required before treatment to discuss your child's health and any particular requirements
Home Visits
Home visits are available for postpartum acupuncture, or for those who are unable to attend the clinic. A small travel fee will be negotiated, depending on where you live in Tauranga Moana.
ACC Treatments
For your injury to be accepted by ACC you first need to have your injury assessed by a GP or other medical doctor, midwife, osteopath, physiotherapist or chiropractor. If your injury has been accepted by ACC, and is within 1 year since the date of the injury, you are eligible to have acupuncture treatment alongside any other ACC - funded treatment you may be having. Please bring your ACC claim details with you to your initial appointment. Unfortunately acupuncture treatments for ACC covered birth injuries is not currently available. For more information about how to get ACC support after a birth injury you can find this on the ACC website, or get in touch with your midwife/LMC, a medical doctor, physiotherapist, osteopath.
Reduced Cost Treatments
Please inquire about reduced treatment cost if you hold a community service card, are a student, or are on reduced income. If you are wanting acupuncture treatment to help with mental health and you are unable to work full-time, it is possible to ask your GP for assistance around seeking WINZ support to help cover cost of acupuncture treatment, or to alternatively receive support for counseling/therapy services.
